Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Every operation runs entirely inside your browser using your device's own processor. Your files never leave your computer, so the tool works even with the page disconnected from the internet after loading.
How do I control the GIF's speed?
Use the frame-delay slider. A smaller delay (e.g. 100 ms) plays fast; a larger one (e.g. 800 ms) plays as a slow slideshow. By default the GIF loops forever.
Why is my GIF a bit grainy or limited in colour?
The GIF format supports at most 256 colours per image, so Kotopig picks an optimised palette. Photographic GIFs always look slightly posterised — that's a limitation of the format, not the tool.
Can I split an animated GIF into pictures?
Yes. Switch to “Split GIF”, drop your animated GIF, and every frame is extracted as a PNG, JPG or WebP, downloadable together as a ZIP.
Do my images get the same size in the GIF?
Yes. Frames are sized to a common canvas (capped to the max size you choose) and centred, so mixed-size images animate cleanly.
